The story behind Violin Pro
assets/about.jpg
I'm Tanissha Gunjal, a 16-year-old violinist with over 13 years of experience. I've completed ABRSM Grade 5 in Music Theory and Performance and Suzuki Book 6, and I've always believed learning music should be easier and more enjoyable — especially for beginners.
I created Violin Pro in 2021 to help others learn the violin through visual, easy-to-understand sheet music. Every sheet uses note names (A–B–C–D), finger numbers (1–2–3–4), and colour-coded strings. Together, these make it easier to read music, learn finger placement, and practise with confidence.
A team effort
When Violin Pro first launched, I was fortunate to have help from a few of my childhood friends who supported me with the initial sheet music and setup. Their encouragement was a huge part of why the project came to life, and I'm incredibly grateful for it.
Thank you to Kaavya Dhuri, Gayatri Agarwal, Siddhi Yadav, Mehak Sahni, Eva Naik and Sarah Menezes for all your help.

Guide
How to read Violin Pro sheet music
Three simple markings appear on every sheet. Once you know what they mean, you can play almost anything here.
↓ Download The Violin Handbook (PDF)Note names
Every note has its letter written above it (A, B, C, D, E, F, G). You don't need to memorise the staff to get started — just follow the letters and match them to your strings.
Finger numbers
Numbers 1–4 tell you which left-hand finger to press down. 1 is your index finger, 4 is your pinky, and 0 means an open string — no finger at all.
Colour-coded strings
Each of the four violin strings has its own colour. When a note is coloured, play it on the matching string.
0 = open string · 1 = 1st finger · 2 = 2nd · 3 = 3rd · 4 = 4th

Common questions
Do I need to read traditional sheet music first?
No. That's the whole point — the note letters and finger numbers let you start playing before you've memorised the staff. You'll pick up standard notation naturally as you go.
What does the number 0 mean?
0 is an open string: play that string without pressing any finger down. It's the same pitch as the string's name (G, D, A or E).
Can I print the sheets?
Yes. Every piece has a Download button that gives you the full-quality PDF to print or keep.
My piece isn't here — can you add it?
Send it through the request form and I'll do my best to arrange it in the Violin Pro style.

Violin Pro is a free website that shares violin sheet music and beginner guides. It's run by Tanissha Gunjal. Keeping your information safe matters to me, so here — in plain language — is exactly what the site does with it.
The short version
I don't run ads, I don't sell your data, and there are no accounts or logins. The only personal information the site ever receives is what you choose to type into the Request a Song form.
What I collect
When you submit the song-request form, I receive the name, email address and song you enter. That's it. If you never use the form, I don't collect any personal information from you.
How it's used
Your request is used only to read what song you'd like and, if needed, to reply to you. I don't add you to a mailing list or share your details with anyone for marketing.
How the form works (third parties)
The request form is delivered to my inbox (care.violinpro@gmail.com) by FormSubmit, a service that turns form submissions into email. Your submission passes through their servers on the way to me. A few other services help run the site: it's hosted on Netlify, fonts load from Google Fonts (which may see your IP address as part of delivering the fonts), and the tuner page embeds a tool hosted on GitHub Pages. Each has its own privacy practices.
Cookies & tracking
Violin Pro doesn't set advertising or tracking cookies. To understand how many people visit, the site uses GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly, cookieless visitor counter that records anonymous page-view stats — it doesn't identify you or follow you across the web. Embedded third-party tools (like the tuner) may use their own.
Children
This site is made for learners of all ages, including younger beginners. I don't knowingly collect anything beyond the request-form details above. If a child has sent a request and a parent or guardian would like it removed, just email me and I'll delete it.
Your choices
You can ask me to delete any request you've sent at any time — email care.violinpro@gmail.com and I'll remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above will change too. Questions? Email care.violinpro@gmail.com.

Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 2026
By using Violin Pro, you agree to these simple terms. They're here to keep things fair for everyone.
What Violin Pro is
Violin Pro offers free violin sheet music and beginner guides, marked with note names, finger numbers and colour-coded strings to make learning easier. Everything here is provided for personal, educational use.
Using the sheet music
You're welcome to view, download and print the sheet music for your own practice, learning and teaching. Please don't resell it, or redistribute it as your own or for profit. A link back to Violin Pro is always appreciated instead.
Music & copyright
Many pieces here are arrangements of songs that belong to their original composers, artists and rights holders. These arrangements are shared free of charge to help beginners learn — not to compete with the original works. The colour-coded, note-labelled arrangements themselves are the work of Violin Pro. If you're a rights holder and would like a piece removed, please email care.violinpro@gmail.com and I'll take it down promptly.
Song requests
You can request a song through the form, but sending a request doesn't guarantee it will be arranged or added — I do my best when I can.
“As is”
The site and its materials are provided as they are, without any guarantee that they're error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. You use them at your own discretion.
Links & tools
Violin Pro links to and embeds outside tools, such as the tuner. I'm not responsible for the content or practices of other websites.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time; the “last updated” date will reflect that. Questions? Email care.violinpro@gmail.com.
